A Rastafari I prefer I no response who like it
Or who like it not,
I nah look out of I self
So the preacher can gwaan chat
On Mama Africa I could a never turn I back
Haile Selassie a the first the trinity done show I that
No confusion I see it clear
The food them eating, destroying them brain
No offer I no meat, with you vegetable I will share
I no eat nothing with eye teeth or tongue my dear
To some people Rastafari might seems strange, because we bun comb scissors and we no shave
We A teach the youths them what them need fi hear
Dutty babylong try no come near
Why should I believe what they teach
When they do not even practice what they preach
A nuff youth a sleep on cool concrete, yet still collection plate full every week
I speak of what I see what they teach is of no reality
They are all based on lies and ignorancy.

Rebel Chant
by Asafo Weedamiah

Babylon must honor I demands for they are more than reasonable
I demand EQUAL RIGHTS AND JUSTICE or you can brand I a rebel
Why dem waan end Afrikan's joy, too long I black mother miserable
Working sun up to sun down, yet things barely manageable
Da boss on vacation every other month, dem much more dan comfortable
Dem waan I n I stop chant nyahbhinghi, but da fyah is irreprisible
& Wi a trod one a way, so dem caan buy wi out, I n I incorruptible
Immanuel da 7th adonai seh low da dead meat, so I n I only eat igetable
I burn beth and da pope cuz dem disreputable
I burn da pastor in da church, his doctrine nuh credible, nor palatable
I n I burn dem souless scientist, cuz dem advancements are questionable
I n I tell dem a just Life and Love, da rest nuh really valuable
I hail da black Mosiah Garvey as da Rt. Honored Rebel
As we dust out bablyon inna da streets or pon bass and treble
Dem a try conquer I, but Black lion of afrika is unconquerable
Cuz I n I a hail Emeperor Haile Selassie I da first as the most venerable
